ABOUT THE ACB
The Australian Charity for Burundi (ACB) is a non-governmental humanitarian development organisation founded in 2015 by Jean Pierre Niyibaruta. Guided by a dedicated board of directors and a passionate group of volunteers, ACB has thoughtfully evolved its name over the years, initially starting as Further Hope Community Support, then transitioning to Burundian Diaspora in Australia, and ultimately adopting its current designation, the Australian Charity for Burundi. The founder showcases a profound appreciation for Australian culture and embodies the country’s commendable tradition of compassion towards those in need.
ACB is acutely aware that limited access to food security, essential resources, education, and healthcare can significantly contribute to challenges such as crime, inequality, gender-based violence, and child abuse. In response to these pressing concerns, ACB is committed to facilitating effective management and fundraising solutions, fostering connections among individuals and organisations dedicated to implementing projects that aim to alleviate poverty.
